Vital Records
Certified copies of the following vital records are avaiable for purchase through the Town Clerk's office.
- Birth Certificates
- Death Certificates
- Marriage Certificates
Each record costs $5.00 per copy. Requests can be made in person, by phone (978-838-2931) or by email (TownClerk@TownOfBerlin.com). You can also order and pay for a copy online, using the Town's online payment center.
Please note that we are only able to accept cash or check if you are paying in person at the Clerk's office. If you are paying online, we are able to accept check, credit or debit. When paying online, we encourage everyone to verify that we have a copy of the record they are requesting before ordering.
Apostilles & Certifications
A certification or legalization is generally necessary for documents which leave the United States. Common types of documents which require certification for acceptance into a foreign country include documents for an international adoption, diplomas issued by an American college or university and various types of records and contracts integral to a company which does business in a foreign country. This certification is obtained from the Secretary of State's office.
