1870 Town Hall Manager

The Town of Berlin seeks qualified candidates for the part-time (up to 15 hours per week), non-benefitted position of 1870 Town Hall Manager, starting immediately.

 

The position works under the administrative direction of the Town Administrator and policy oversight of the Select Board, and is responsible for the administration, data reporting, marketing and financial management for the 1870 Town Hall.

 

This is a Grade V FLSA non-exempt position ($17.94 to $22.90 per hour) with an anticipated hiring range of $17.94 to $18.74 per hour DOQE.

Police Chief

The Town of Berlin seeks qualified candidates for the full-time benefited position of Police Chief.  The Police Chief reports to the Town Administrator and supervises 9 full-time police officers, part-time officers, traffic controllers, an animal control officer, and public safety administrative assistant. 

 

Minimum requirements of 7 to 10 years of progressively responsible experience in a municipal police department, of which at least 3 years are in a supervisory position; Master’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field;  must be a Massachusetts certified police officer and meet standards as dictated by the Massachusetts Police Training Committee. 

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for assuring the timely training and credentialing of officers and the department in accordance with all specified laws and regulations within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  This is an FLSA exempt position.  Salary is negotiable, DOQE.

The Town of Berlin seeks qualified candidates for the position of Seasonal Driver/Laborer.  

 

This is a non-benefited, intermittent part-time position (as needed) starting immediately.  

 

Applicants must possess a valid Class D Massachusetts driver’s license and have documented experience with winter plowing and road salt application operations.

 

This is a Grade V position at a $20.04 to $21.43 hourly rate depending on qualifications and experience.

Library Page

 

The Town of Berlin Library is currently accepting applications for the part-time non-benefited position of Library Page at the Berlin Public Library. The Grade I/Step 1 position ($13.50/hour) is for 2-6 hours per week during Library hours.

 

The work includes shelving of library materials, shelf maintenance, and performing clerical tasks. Also may occasionally provide simple directions to patrons.

 

Pages may be asked to perform simple physical tasks to support library programs or procedures.

 

The work is performed under the direct supervision and requires no prior knowledge of library procedures.

 

May be asked to perform simple circulation desk duties. Does related work as required or requested.

The Town of Berlin seeks qualified candidates for two (2) Seasonal Landscaper positions.  This is a non-benefited, part-time position starting immediately, through October 1, 2021.

 

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age as required by the Dept. of Labor, Wage and Hour Division with a valid Class D Massachusetts driving license and a basic knowledge of equipment, methods, and procedures used in landscaping and maintenance of buildings and grounds.

 

This is a Grade IV position at a $16.72 hourly rate.
