Municipal Affordable Housing Trust (MAHT)

The Affordable Housing Trust was adopted at the 2022 ATM for the preservation and creation of affordable housing in the Town of Berlin. The Trust is governed by five Trustees in accordance with Mass. General Laws Chapter 44, Section 55C and the authority granted by Town Meeting.  With the passage of the Community Preservation Act, funds are now generated that can be used to support the housing needs of low-and-moderate income households.  The creation of a this Trust provides for the effective use of these CPA funds and all funds previously collected for this purpose.
