The Earthwork Permit

Fees in the form of a check should be made payable to the "Town of Berlin" as follows:

  • New Permit Application -  $500.00
  • Renewal Application - $250.00

Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 5 of the General Bylaws, a local licensing/permitting authority has the option to deny, revoke or suspend a license or permit for failure to pay any local taxes, fees, assessments, betterments or other municipal charges, provided that the party has not filed an abatement application with the Assessors or doesn't have a pending petition before the Appellate Tax Board.  The bylaw includes the procedures to be followed by the licensing authority and alternatives available to the licensing authority when this situation arises.  Licensing authorities may periodically request current tax payment information from the Treasurer/Collector for their consideration of license/permit applications.
