Berlin's 2018 Annual Town Report wins contest!

The Massachusetts Municipal Association presented the Town of Berlin honors for the Town's 2018 Annual Town Report.

The Massachusetts Municipal Association (MMA) has bestowed honors on the work of Berlin’s Annual Town Report Committee.  The committee took home third place in the Small town category for its tremendous work on the 2018 Annual Town Report.

The MMA contest divides municipalities into 3 different population categories:

  • Large (population over 12,500),
  • Medium (between 5,000 to 12,499), and
  • Small (4,999 and under) sized communities.  [Berlin counted 3,141 residents in 2019]

Annual town report entries are judged for layout and design, quality and depth of information, organization, originality and overall usefulness of the report to residents.

Town Administrator Margaret Nartowicz presented the award at the January 27, 2020 Board of Selectmen’s meeting to Berlin Annual Town Report Committee member Lori Fearebay.  Fearebay worked with fellow committee member Barry Eager and former committee member Tricia Concannon on the award-winning report.

The Board of Selectmen has the statutory responsibility to assure that town reports are made available each year to the inhabitants of the town.   Picking up such a distinction is an honor and tribute to the committee’s hard work.

Congratulations!

The MMA advocates for the majority of the Commonwealth’s 351 cities and towns.
