Most (but not all*) volunteer and employment opportunities in the Town government are filled by the Board of Selectmen.
*Others Town volunteer and employment posts may be:
appointed by other Town authorities (ex. the Town Moderator, Planning Board, Town Clerk, Assessors, Board of Health)
elected by popular vote (ex. Assessors, Board of Health, Planning Board, Town Clerk, Town Moderator)
