Berlin Municipal Affordable Housing Trust (BMAHT) - new



The Berlin Select Board seeks four (4) residents to serve on the Berlin Municipal Affordable Housing Trust (BMAHT). The Trust was created by Berlin Town Meeting on May 2, 2022. The Trust’s mission is to support the preservation and creation of low- and moderate-income affordable housing in the Town of Berlin. There shall be no fewer than five (5) members of the Trust, with one being a Select Board member, and four being Berlin residents.

1. Select Board Member – initial term expiring May 31, 2024 (3-year terms thereafter)

2. At Large Resident – initial term expiring May 31, 2024 (3-year terms thereafter)

3. At Large Resident – initial term expiring May 31, 2025 (3-year terms thereafter)

4. At Large Resident – initial term expiring May 31, 2025 (3-year terms thereafter)

5. At Large Resident – initial term expiring May 31, 2026 (3-year terms thereafter)

Trust meetings shall be open to the public, and held at least quarterly, but ideally monthly, on dates and times chosen by the Trustees. Those interested in serving on the Berlin Municipal Affordable Housing Trust (BMAHT) should complete and submit a Volunteer Application form (link below) to the Select Board Office at selectmen@townofberlin.com. The positions remain open until filled by the Select Board. All Berlin residents with an interest in affordable housing should apply.
