Available Elected Offices for 2022 Annual Town Election

 

Nomination Papers may now be obtained by visiting the Berlin Town Clerk’s Office on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 AM – 2 PM and Wednesday nights from 7-9 PM.

To secure a printed spot on the ballot, a minimum of twenty-five (25) valid registered voters’ signatures are needed (although there are 32 spaces are on the nomination document).

Please gather more than 25 signatures as not everyone who signs are, in fact, a registered voter (though they may think they are but never got around to registering).

Before returning the signatures, please do not forget to sign the nomination papers yourself to signify that you ‘accept’ the nomination.

Please return completed forms as soon as possible as it does take time to verify all the signatures.

Nomination papers are to be completed, signed, and returned to the Town Clerk’s Office no later than 5 PM on Tuesday, April 12, 2022.

If a candidate changes their mind they have until Thursday, April 14, 2022, at 5 PM to submit a notarized letter of withdrawal to have their name removed from the printed ballot.

Thereafter, anyone who does not opt to secure a printed position on the ballot is still able to run a write-in or ‘sticker’ campaign at their own effort through Election Day.

The 2022 Berlin Annual Town Election will be held on Monday, May 9, 2022.  The polling location is in the Lower Level of the Berlin Town Offices, 23 Linden Street, Berlin, MA 01503 between the hours of 12 Noon and 8 PM.

The Available Offices are as follows:

  • Moderator - one (1) year term
  • Select Board - three (3) year term
  • Assessor Board - three (3) year term
  • Constable – three (3) year term
  • Assabet Valley Regional Vocational Dist. School Committee - four (4) year term
  • Library Trustee – three (3) year term
  • Trustee of Trust Funds - three (3) year term
  • Cemetery Commissioner – three (3) year term
  • Planning Board – five (5) year term
  • Board of Health – three (3) year term
