Berlin Fire Department announces File of Life program

FILE OF LIFE PROGRAM

Fire Chief Ken Clark and the Town of Berlin Fire & EMS Department in conjunction with the Department of Fire Services Senior Safe grant program is pleased to announce participation in the File of Life program. Coordinated by Certified Public Fire Safety Educator FF/EMT Michelle Deveau, the program will assist senior citizens and at-risk populations to have critically vital medical information immediately available to responding public safety personnel. For participation in the program, contact

  • Public Fire Safety Educator FF/EMT Michelle Deveau by email, publiced@townofberlin.com, or
  • Public Safety Administrator Abby Vianna at 978-838-7355 extension 1200.

The File of Life is modeled to be easy for patients to use and immediately recognized by your local first responders. The File of Life strives to maintain an open dialogue with the citizens of Berlin to provide the most up-to-date medical information possible for Fire & EMS personnel. The system uses a simple magnetic packet that contains vital patient medical information that can be easily retrieved by Fire & EMS personnel from your refrigerator door. A sample of the File of Life program is located below.

Together, we can improve emergency medical care and provide a piece of mind for the most vulnerable individuals and their loved ones.
