Support Local Berlin Businesses

A message from the Berlin Economic Development Committtee
Shop Local logo

EDC would like to remind the community to try to support the local small businesses that are still open.

Many basic food and other supply needs can be met right here in town:

Balance Rock Farm

Berlin General Store

Berlin Orchards

Golden Skep Farm

Holiday Farm

    Indian Head Farm

    Village Café

For Berlin small businesses, including sole proprietors, who are facing financial hardship because of COVID-19, there are several available relief programs to help meet financial obligations and operating expenses:

    • Payment deferrals

    • Paycheck Protection Program

    • EIDEL Loan Advance

    • SBA Economic Injury Disaster loans

    • SBA Express Bridge Loans

    • Grants

    • Unemployment Benefits (including new relief for sole proprietors)

You can find a full summary of the programs here:  https://www.mass.gov/info-details/covid-19resources-and-guidance-for-businesses

If you are an individual (sole proprietor, employee, gig worker, entrepreneur, contractor etc.), please view: https://www.mass.gov/how-to/apply-for-unemployment-benefits for further guidance.

If you’re struggling to keep up with the evolving programs, or unsure where to start, please contact us  at edc@townofberlin.com.  The EDC members (one on one if you like) will be happy to share what we know and to spend time with you navigating the programs as best we know.
