Snack Shack Open

The Snack Shack is open for business.  Berlin Baseball has rented it from the town for the season, and will be serving refreshments at as many home games as possible.  Come on down!

Tee-Ball Field Transformed into Softball Field

Thank you to the many volunteers who have put in approximately 2000 hours of effort to relocate the Tee-Ball field and change the infield from grass to a “skinned” infield.  This newly refurbished field now supports not only Tee-Ball and Coach Pitch baseball, but also girls softball.

Thanks also to the Town of Berlin Recreation Committee and Highway Department for their assistance in providing materials and support to make this happen.

Let’s play softball!

Field Maintenance Day

Team practices are getting underway, and it is time to get the fields ready too.

We’re planning on having a field maintenance weekend Saturday, March 29th from 8:00 – 2:00 and Sunday, March 30th from 1:00 – 5:00.

Rain dates will be April 5th & 6th.

We will be getting the fields ready for play by accomplishing the following tasks:

Rake, weed, and level base paths and infield
     Install bases and pitching rubber
     Restore pitching mounds
     Add loam where needed

Please bring rakes and shovels if you can.

New “Challenger” Baseball League

New “Challenger” baseball league for physically & mentally challenged children, ages 5 through 18, now forming!

Games will be played every Saturday morning, 10:00 to 11:00, May 10 through June 14 at Thayer Field in Lancaster.  No practices, just games!

Any local Little Leaguers are welcome and encouraged to come and be a best buddy for all Challenger players!

Just bring a glove and a fun attitude!

If interested, please contact Joe Kennedy at 978-365-2148 or Kennedy2004@comcast.net for more information and to pre-register.

Skills & Drills Sessions

This year we’re conducting two optional indoor “skills & drills” sessions to get players some early practice before the fields become available.

Location:  BMS gym

January 26th at 3:00pm for 10-12 yr olds
February 9th from 3:00-5:00pm for 7-9 yr olds

Bring glove and sneakers.

We expect to offer additional sessions in March.

Assessment Day Feb 2nd

Our goal is to collect any outstanding registrations and to generally assess player skill levels in order to determine how many teams we will field at each level (e.g. Tee-Ball, Coach Pitch, Minors, Majors, Softball).  We need this information this week to organize teams and inter-league schedules.

Location, Date and Times:   Berlin Memorial School gym, Saturday, February 2nd

1st session:  8:30 to 10:00am for Coach Pitch & Softball
2ns session:  10:00 to 11:30am for Minors & Majors baseball - 11 yrs and younger

Note: Tee-Ball, players returning from Majors last year, and 12 yr olds signing up for Majors need not attend

Please bring glove and sneakers.

This session is not mandatory, but we ask that you attend if at all possible.
