                              We will carpool / caravan as much as possible.

Scouts participating will be honored with a special cub scout Leave No Trace
Award at the next Pack meeting. Parents will need to do two things with your
scout:1)Before the hike, review the attached Leave No Trace guidelines, and 2)
After the hike, have them draw a related picture to be displayed at the Pack
meeting.

Wachusset Mtn. is only 45 minutes from Berlin. The hike is under and hour each
way. The view is terrific! Parents are encouraged to join the hike or can drive to
the top and meet for lunch. With enough adults, we should be able to take some 
scouts without parents. Preliminary information is below. Directions and updates
will follow for those participating.

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE
         9:00 am - Depart Berlin Memorial
         10:00 - Meet at Wachusset Park Center building
                 (up the road from the ski area)

         10:30 - Begin hike
         11:30 - Arrive at summit, explore
         12:00 - Lunch, games, etc.
         12:30 - Hike down
         1:30 - Depart for home
         2:00 pm – optional Rota Farms ice cream in Lancaster
SUGGESTED to BRING
         Comfortable hiking shoes or sneakers with good tread
         Shorts or loose fitting pants
         Comfortable short sleeve or long sleeve shirt
         Light windbreaker/ raincoat (it is windy at the summit)
         Hat
         Knapsack
         Bandana
FOOD
         Non-perishable (suggested) lunch
         Two (2) water bottles per person (or 1 water + 1 juice)
         Trail snacks
         Fruit
GEAR
         Small trash bag
         Sunscreen
         Bug Spray
         Tissues
         Band-aids
         Needed medications
         Cell phone, camera, binoculars, frisbee, ball, etc.
DO "NOT" BRING
         Game boys / electronic toys, etc. - Alcohol
